SUMMARY:Food Truck Wednesdays kick off in the Menomonee Valley
DESCRIPTION:Food Truck Wednesdays kick off at the Menomonee Valley Community Park on Wednesday\, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and continue twice a month through October. Four food trucks will start the summer series with foods to please every palate\, from American to Cuban to Vietnamese. These include Bebe’s Bistro\, Denson’s Catering\, Little Havana\, and Tasty Café. \nFood trucks park on S. 36th Street near Charter Wire\, just west of the intersection of Canal Street and Milwaukee Road. The adjacent Menomonee Valley Community Park has 20 acres of park space with picnic tables\, walking paths\, and thousands of native plants and trees. Menomonee Valley employees and neighboring residents are encouraged to bike or walk along the Hank Aaron State Trail on Food Truck Wednesdays. \nFood Truck Wednesdays will be held on: May 17 and 31\, June 14 and 28\, July 12 and 26\, August 9 and 23\, September 6 and 20\, and October 4 and 18. A variety of food trucks will visit throughout the summer; updated food truck schedules will be posted RenewTheValley.org. \nFood Truck Wednesdays were very popular when they launched in 2016 and are returning for a longer season in 2017. \nMenomonee Valley Partners organizes Food Truck Wednesdays\, among other programs\, to foster a thriving district for the enjoyment of Valley employees as well as the greater Milwaukee community. May through October is an ideal time to have a meal outside in the Menomonee Valley’s park spaces. More information is available at RenewTheValley.org or call 414-274-4655. \n

SUMMARY:Pajama Jamboree Season Concludes With “I’ve Got Rhythm”
DESCRIPTION:Festival City Symphony (FCS) will conclude its “Pajama Jamboree” series this season with “I’ve Got Rhythm” — Spring Pajama Jamboree\, a free concert on Wed.\, May 17\, 2017\, at 7:00 pm in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. \nPredominated by music with a Latin/African flavor\, the concert will feature special guests from the 10-piece band De La Buena\, a Milwaukee group that electrifies audiences with their own brand of Afro-Cuban and Latin Jazz. \nThe concert will close with the popular Festival City Symphony tradition of young audience members conducting the orchestra’s finale. \nUnlike previous years\, attendees should enter through the main entrance on 929 N. Water St. If they park in the Marcus Center lot\, they are welcome to use the third level skywalk. \nAll “Pajama Jamboree” concerts have free admission. Hosted by Education Director Jayne Perkins\, these popular programs welcome children and their parents or grandparents to attend in casual dress or pajamas. The audience is invited to bring a blanket and sit on the floor\, up close to “meet” the orchestra. Conventional seating is also available. Pajama Jamborees are best suited for children in K4 through fifth grade. \n
