DESCRIPTION:Cascio Interstate Music SuperStore\, 13819 W. National Avenue in New Berlin\, presents globally recognized musician\, educator\, and author Jeff Coffin on Monday\, March 20\, 2017\, from 5 p.m. to  8 p.m. on Cascio’s Soundstage inside the Cascio SuperStore for a Free Jazz Masterclass and Performance. \nJeff is a three-time Grammy-winner\, saxophonist of Dave Matthews Band\, and former member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. Appearing with Jeff will be three local high school jazz groups\, from Hartford Union High School\, Arrowhead High School and Brookfield Central High School. This free event is supported by Yamaha Musical Instruments and Cascio Interstate Music. \nCoffin\, a strong supporter of music education\, will conduct a FREE Masterclass live on-stage with the students and their directors\, stressing and reinforcing the basics and fundamentals as being the essential building blocks or “roots” of music. \nThe schedule for the evening is:\n5 pm – Hartford Union High School – Andy Hacker\, Director\n6 pm – Arrowhead High School – Jake Polancich and Stacey Zwirlein\, Directors\n7 pm – Brookfield Central High School – Jason Gillette\, Director \nStudents and educators from around the world have experienced first-hand Coffin’s ability to reach players of all ages. He stresses that the fundamentals are the essential building blocks or “roots” of music. “Without roots\, the tree doesn’t grow. I feel that the things I cover are essential to the continued growth of ALL musicians at ALL levels\,” states Jeff. \nThis FREE Masterclass Clinic and Performance is open to the public\, featuring D’Addario Mouthpiece giveaways plus photo and autograph opportunities. Those planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early\, as seating and parking are limited. \n
