SUMMARY:8th Annual Milwaukee Ukulele Festival
DESCRIPTION:“All things Ukulele” will be celebrated at the 8th Annual Milwaukee Ukulele Festival at the Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove on Saturday October 1st. The festival is a full day of workshops\, vendors\, and demonstrations beginning at 10 a.m. The evening festival\, which is open to the general public\, begins at 7 p.m. The event will have World Class Talent from right here in the Midwest and nationally recognized players. This year’s lineup includes: Bucky Halker\, Guy Fiorentini\, The Milwaukee Ukulele Club and Friends\, Richard Ash\, Lil’ Rev\, Spencer & Raines\, Seeso\, Michael Bootzin\, Danielle Ate the Sandwich\, and Matt Lindahl. Jamming\, Workshops\, Dinner hour concert\, raffle\, evening concert and post fest party are all planned. \n

DESCRIPTION:The technique of painting with wax has been around since the time of the Egyptians. Artists throughout the ages have employed this method of mixing wax medium into oil paint\, applying it to a rigid surface\, and “burning” it in using heat. In modern times the heat gun has become the most popular tool for this purpose. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to explore this technique and to experiment with a variety of applications including collage and stenciling. \nPlease bring a bag lunch. \nFee: $75.00 Member Fee: $62.00 \nOnline registration closes three days before class begins. \nClasses are held at RAM’s Wustum Museum\, 2519 Northwestern Avenue\, Racine. \n
