SUMMARY:Introducing Katie Musolff and Andy Fletcher: Old Souls
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Dates: February 13 – March 12 \nOpening Reception: Feb. 13 from 2 – 4 PM \nThe Tory Folliard Gallery is pleased to announce the representation of two Wisconsin artists\, Katie Musolff and Andy Fletcher. Their debut exhibition includes paintings from Musolff’s River Journal Series and Fletcher’s plein air landscapes. \nAn astute observer\, Katie Musolff paints plants and animals that she finds along the Mississippi River. Her current body of work\, River Journal\, consists of meticulous watercolor and gouache paintings that concentrate on the beauty and grace of her surroundings while embracing the remains of the organic world. \nAndy Fletcher‘s landscapes explore man’s changing relationship with the land. His paintings evoke feelings of nostalgia as they celebrate the family farm and an older\, more sustainable way of farming. \n

SUMMARY:How much do you love Carl von Marr?
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 13 | 2:00–4:00 \nTwo of Wisconsin’s most respected and lively artists—Tom Bamberger and Tom Uttech—will go head-to-head in a discussion over Carl von Marr’s masterpiece\, The Flagellants. \nThis pair of luminaries will air out their opposing opinions about this historical painting. Join us in the galleries to discover who finds it to be a masterfully-executed and meaningful allegory and who finds it to be an over-told\, academic epic. Or perhaps something in between. \nIn celebration of Carl von Marr’s February 14 birthday and in recognition of the museum’s founding legacy\, this Carl von Marr-inspired afternoon is a great outing for Valentine’s Day weekend. Join us for what is sure to be a rapturous debate followed by birthday cake! \nSpecial thanks to the Melitta S. and Joan M. Pick Charitable Trust for the ongoing support of MOWA. \n

SUMMARY:Panalure and Exfabula
DESCRIPTION:PANALURE AND EXFABULA \nSat Feb 13 2016 8pm @ 224 W Bruce St. – 8pm \nMilwaukee Band Panalure and Storytellers Ex Fabula Come Together Again in “Cabin Fever\, Songs for a Cold Winter Night” at Anodyne Coffee.\nMilwaukee band Panalure and storytellers Ex Fabula originally partnered last winter under the theme of\, Stories of Love\, Lust and Murder. Hosted by Anodyne Coffee the show paired the original songs of Panalure with personal\, true stories by members of Ex Fabula. The show was a big success and drew a near sell-out crowd and also a large listening audience from WUWM radio’s broadcast of the performance. \nAccording to Fred Ziegler\, Panalure’s vocalist and main songwriter\, “We really enjoyed working with Ex Fabula and the show brought together a new and very attentive audience. The audience was there to listen as everyone loves a story. With Cabin Fever we’re taking the integration of Ex Fabula’s stories and Panalure’s songs to the next level. The new batch of songs and stories in Cabin Fever are an invitation to come in from the cold of the Wisconsin winter and reflect on what it means to hunker down and go inside\, both physically and emotionally.” According to Megan McGee curator and director of Ex Fabula\, “Panalure’s new songs are a bit more acoustic and intimate\, giving us the opportunity to intertwine their songs and our stories in a way that will be even more exciting for the audience. We had a lot of fun with the first show and clearly the audience loved it.” \nPanalure is veteran song-writer\, vocalist and guitarist\, Fred Ziegler with Nathan Kilen on drums\, Michael De Boer and Jason Klagstad on guitars\, Ken Hanson on bass and Kari Hoff on background vocals. \n$10 advance tickets available here–\nhttps://anodynecoffee.com/shop/product-category/events/ \n
