DESCRIPTION:Language: stories of slang\, colloquialisms\, code-switching\, learning (or forgetting) languages\, and the words that connect us. \nEx Fabula StorySlams are live events where community members connect and share true\, personal stories related to the night’s theme\, told without props or notes. Come just to listen – or throw your name in the hat for a chance to share a true story related to the theme ‘Language’. At the end of the night\, the audience votes by secret ballot to crown an *Audience Favorite. \nThe audience can also be a part of the storytelling by submitting UltraShorts! These are “ultra-short” stories on the night’s theme that will be read onstage by the emcee. \nSpecial thanks to our event sponsor: Educators Credit Union \n*Audience Favorite: the storyteller voted audience favorite will be invited to tell another story at ALL STARS for the chance to be crowned Season Favorite. \nTickets are $10 in advance\, or $12 at the door. Limited pay-it-forward tickets available. \n
