SUMMARY:Special Edition Gallery Talk: George Morrison’s “Collage X Landscape”
DESCRIPTION:Experience Homelands: Mnë’nának\, Māēnāēwah\, Tešišik through a special gallery talk led by Thomas Busciglio-Ritter\, Abert Family Associate Curator of American Art. Focusing on Collage X Landscape by Ojibwe artist George Morrison\, on view for a limited time\, the discussion explores Morrison’s evolving artistic practice\, the work’s formal qualities\, and its place within the Museum’s gallery dedicated to Indigenous art\, histories\, and living cultures. \nThis drop-in experience is included with Museum admission and is free for Members. Admission tickets are available at the door or online. \nMuseum Admission \nAdults: $27\, Kids under 12: Free\, Members: Free \nAbout Thomas Busciglio-Ritter:\nThomas Busciglio-Ritter joined the Milwaukee Art Museum in 2025 as the Abert Family Associate Curator of American Art\, overseeing research\, exhibitions\, and acquisitions of American art from the 18th to the mid-20th century. Most recently he worked on Gertrude Abercrombie: The Whole World Is a Mystery (2026)\, the first nationally touring retrospective of the artist’s work. Before Milwaukee\, Busciglio-Ritter served as assistant curator of American Western art at the Joslyn Art Museum\, where he helped reinstall the American galleries during its expansion and curated All Aboard: The Railroad in American Art\, 1840–1955 (2025). He has published in Revue de l’art\, Panorama\, Early American Studies\, and Print Quarterly.
