DESCRIPTION:Please join us virtually for a discussion with Jill Sebastian on her current exhibition at Saint Kate! \nJoin us virtually for a discussion with Milwaukee-based artist Jill Sebastian! \nSebastian will discuss her current exhibition at Saint Kate\, Preoccupations\, a solo show that spans across two Saint Kate galleries to address ongoing preoccupations throughout her life\, both material and historical. Preoccupations articulates the artist’s own experiences of recurrent historical events as a way of investigating our shared cultural\, social\, and public spaces. With extensive experience in public art installations\, one of her public collaborations include a site-specific installation and multimedia work created with Wild Space Dance Company at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Sebastian is the recipient of several awards including the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship (1985) and the Visual Art Lifetime Achievement Award (2016). Sebastian is a Professor Emerita at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. \n
