SUMMARY:Rory Makem: Irish Songs\, Stories & Samhain
DESCRIPTION:From beloved Irish folk classics to stories of ancient Celtic traditions\, spend an evening immersed in the music\, history\, and folklore of Ireland with Rory Makem. \nThe love of song runs deep in the Makem family. Rory is the son of Tommy Makem (of Clancy Brothers fame) and continues a legacy handed down from his grandmother\, the legendary source singer Sarah Makem. Rory pulls the songs of the worker\, the sailor\, the lovers\, the fighters\, and the land from the pages of history and breathes life into them. He’s an adept interpreter of folk songs\, masterfully accompanying himself on guitar\, banjo\, mandolin\, or bouzouki. \nThere will be a bar available offering draft Guinness\, along with a selection of canned beer\, wine\, soda\, and water. \nThe VIP experience includes*: \n– An exclusive acoustic performance by Rory Makem upstairs in CelticMKE’s Ward Irish Music Archives\n– Stories and insights about Tommy Makem and his musical legacy from Rory. Tommy Makem memorabilia\, preserved in the archives’ special collections\, will be on display for VIP viewing.\n– Reserved front-of-house seating for the main concert \nLimited Capacity Available. Doors for the VIP experience open at 6:00 p.m. The VIP experience will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.\n*Low ticket alert. Less than 8 available. \nThis event is part of the Ceol and Ól Celtic Concert Series\, proudly brought to you by Guinness and produced by CelticMKE\, the nonprofit home of Milwaukee Irish Fest. Learn more about CelticMKE and other upcoming concerts at celticmke.com. \n
