DESCRIPTION:Join WAM in celebrating the Opening Reception of “Pause/Connect” curated by Lisa Hostetler. \nPhotography’s uncanny ability to interrupt the passage of time is one of its most compelling hallmarks. The medium’s stilling of strange and familiar scenes allows thoughts and emotions to emerge that facilitate insight and understanding. To that end\, this exhibition gathers a broad range of photographs\, including works by Uta Barth\, Margaret Bourke-White\, Helen Levitt\, Richard Rinaldi\, and many others\, all drawn from the museum’s collection. Arranged in thematic groups that encompass a variety of approaches\, the pictures create vibrant conversations across history\, geography\, and sensibility. \n
