SUMMARY:LWV Forum: Milwaukee City-County Climate and Equity Plan
DESCRIPTION:The Milwaukee City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity is creating a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address racial and economic inequity. \nRegister at the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County website main page at https://www.lwvmilwaukee.org/ \nFeatured speaker is Erick Shambarger\, Sustainability Director at the City of Milwaukee Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) and Project Manager for the Milwaukee Climate and Equity Plan. A panel discussion with other members of the Task Force will follow\, along with a Q&A with the audience. \nMr. Shambarger oversees implementation of the Refresh Milwaukee sustainability plan and coordinates Milwaukee’s involvement with local\, national and global partnerships on environmental sustainability. \nHe oversees all of ECO’s programs\, including the Milwaukee Energy Efficiency (Me2) program\, the Milwaukee Better Buildings Challenge\, Water Centric City initiative\, the HOME GR/OWN program and green infrastructure work. He led development of the City’s Green Infrastructure Plan that was adopted in 2019 and is currently the Project Manager for the forthcoming Climate and Equity Plan. \nREGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS REQUIRED.
