DESCRIPTION:Laurie Hogin: Implacable Demons and Better Angels \nBizarre and beautiful\, Laurie Hogin’s allegorical paintings raise issues of consumerism\, sexism\, and environmental degradation. Rendered in the hyper-realistic style reminiscent of 17th-century Dutch masters\, neon-colored animals populate overgrown\, idealistic landscapes or pose as the subject of a portrait.
