SUMMARY:IN//OUT opening reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of IN//OUT\, a group exhibition exploring both the advantage and burden of information overload in today’s world. The exhibition features work by emerging artists Lilia Banrevy\, Peter Klett\, Kate Klingbeil\, James Pederson\, Miguel Ramirez\, Lucas Ruminski and Sandra Schmidt\, and curated by Sean Heiser. \nArt practices today are met with boundless access to information. The Internet\, historical contexts\, well-scouted mediums\, and an excess of cultural ephemera grant a large amount of choices to art-making strategies. IN//OUT considers the image and object-making tendencies of a group of young artists\, and how they manifest through a diverse range of work –- in conceptual frameworks\, formal ideas\, and technical execution. \nIn context of each other\, the works display the eclectic modes through which this freedom to information reveals itself-through the symbols\, tropes\, and references that seep freely and ahistorically though the practices of these artists. IN//OUT is informed by an interest towards this disjunctive yet intelligible state. \nThe exhibition runs through March 19. Open to the public Tuesday–Saturday\, noon–5 pm. \n
