DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Indigenous cultures and creativity during this day of family fun at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Explore artworks by contemporary Native artists\, make art together\, and meet guest artists from our region. \nThis drop-in experience is included with Museum admission and is free for Members. Admission is always free for kids 12 and under\, thanks to Kohl’s. Come prepared for your visit by reserving tickets at the door or online. \nALL-DAY ACTIVITIES\n10 AM–4 PM | Hands-on Activities\nEmploy techniques used by guest artist Jennifer M. Stevens to embellish clay tiles. Create collaged landscapes inspired by the artworks in “Native America: In Translation.” Make corn husk dolls with guest educator Kahuhyak^le Stephenie Muscavitch VanEvery\, and make beaded bracelets with guest educator Benjamin Grignon.\n10 AM–4 PM | Student Art Exhibition\nSee creations by students from Indian Community School and Menominee Indian High School in the Kohl’s Art Studio.\n11 AM–3 PM | Guest Artists\nMeet artists from across the region\, and learn how their heritage inspires what they create. \nPERFORMANCES AND MORE\n10:30 AM | Words of Gratitude by Indian Community School Alumni Laila King\n11 AM | Indian Community School’s Earth Dance Singers\n12:30 PM | Storytelling with Kahuhyak^le Stephenie Muscavitch VanEvery\n1 PM | 30-minute Family Tour: Native America: In Translation with Ariel Pate\, assistant curator of photography\n2 PM | American Indian Center of Milwaukee Dance Troupe \n
