SUMMARY:California Dreamin': Mark Adams and Frank Lobdell at Racine Art Museum
DESCRIPTION:Mark Adams (1925-2006) and Frank Lobdell (1921-2013) explored pattern and color. Drawing on his experience building images with large planes of color\, Adams created realistic\, color-infused compositions of everyday subjects. Lobdell sought to explore humanity in broader terms––utilizing a “vocabulary of archetypal themes and abstract symbols.” Although primarily a painter\, Lobdell also produced lithographs\, etchings\, and monoprints. Both artists made their way to California where they spent the better part of their artistic careers. \nTuesday – Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm\nSunday 12:00 – 5:00 pm\nClosed Monday\, Federal Holidays and Easter\nThe Museum Store closes at 4:45 pm each day. \n
