MILWAUKEE, WI – 22 April 2015 – Over 3 dozen Wells Fargo volunteers, together with nonprofits, such as: Northwest Side Community Development Corporation, Uniting Garden Homes Inc., Clean WI, LISC, and the 30th St Industrial Corridor, all celebrated Earth Day by picking up litter in the Garden Homes Park and neighborhood.

The clean-up is part of a larger effort in the Garden Homes neighborhood, which includes partner organizations: Northwest Side CDC, Uniting Garden Homes Inc., Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) of Milwaukee, 30th Street Industrial Corridor, and Clean Wisconsin. Together these organizations are working on housing improvements, workforce initiatives and safety efforts in this historic district.

“The commitment of Wells Fargo, not just in terms of manpower for this clean up, but also funding for our larger project in Garden Homes, greatly increases our collective ability to achieve meaningful, lasting progress in the Garden Homes neighborhood,” said Howard Snyder, Executive Director of Northwest Side CDC.

Over 52 bags of debris and litter were collected by volunteers, with the City of Milwaukee stepping up to help with waste removal. Several neighbors took the time to thank volunteers.
