MILWAUKEE – September 19, 2016 – VISIT Milwaukee has won a prestigious, national Videographer Award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The award recognizes a new video designed to promote Milwaukee as an attractive destination for leisure tourism and conventions.

Among the 1,500 entries submitted, the video entitled “Meet Milwaukee,” created by VISIT Milwaukee’s Digital Marketing Manager Kris Martinez, won an Award of Distinction for projects that exceed industry standards. Approximately 14 percent of the entries won this award.

Among the most coveted awards in the video industry, the Videographer Awards are judged by industry professionals, who look for companies and individuals whose work exceeds a high standard of excellence and serves as a benchmark for the industry. Winners range from network news operations to local cable access, from large production companies to freelancers, and from international advertising agencies to student producers.

“Videos are becoming increasingly important in selling a destination. We are pleased that the AMCP agrees with us that ‘Meet Milwaukee’ is a high quality piece that conveys the fun, attractions and natural beauty of our city,” said Paul Upchurch, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee.
