Milwaukee, WI—Beginning, Wednesday, June 3, Downtown Milwaukee’s oldest and largest open-air market, the Westown Farmers’ Market, returns to Zeidler Union Square. Westown Association will welcome vendors, shoppers and musicians back to the square, located at 301 W. Michigan Street, to celebrate the opening day of the market’s summer season.

Shoppers can enjoy a variety of lunch, prepared food and handcrafted art & jewelry vendors, every Wednesday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. June 3 – October 28. The market will feature over 40 vendors selling seasonal Wisconsin grown produce as it becomes available throughout the season.

New vendors for this year’s market include: Food Trucks (Oscar’s on a Roll, Falafel Guys, and Farm Fresh Bowls), Refuge Smoothie Cafe, Stack (BBQ meat sandwiches, veggie salads from local produce), art vendors (C’est Moi, Green Earth Terrarium, JMR Creations, Lilly the Lash, Pam’s Essentials) and prepared food vendors (JWade Confections handcrafted artisan caramels, Kettner Labs pickled veggies). New this year are the programmatic and artistic collaborations that aim to connect Westown Association Farmers’ Market and River Rhythms, NEWaukee’s Night Market, and the Creative Alliance Milwaukee’s 4MKE Initiative to further expand upon the exciting momentum in the downtown’s western neighborhood. This collaboration was fostered by WAMDC, the development corporation formed to help revitalize West Wisconsin Avenue.

The physical proximity of the concurrent programs happening in Zeidler Union Square, Pere Marquette Park and the city-owned lot at 4th Street and Wisconsin Avenue will be highlighted through temporary chalk art displays, musical performances, paper lantern light installations and guided walking tours led by Adam Carr during NEWaukee’s Night Market. The Night Market takes place June 17, July 22, August 19 and September 16th on Wisconsin Ave between 2nd and 4th streets from 5-10pm. Creative Alliance will also have a schedule of programming Wednesday in conjunction with the market throughout the summer.
