Supervisor Taylor Disappointed with the County Board Adoption of the Minimum Wage Ordinance
The resolution would require employers who contract with the County to pay their employees a minimum of $11.33.
Milwaukee, WI – Following the approval of the Minimum Wage Increase proposal at today’s Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors’ meeting, Supervisor Steve F. Taylor issued a following statement:
“I am extremely disappointed with my colleagues who voted in favor of this misguided proposal. This measure creates a $1,000,000 deficit in our budget and the Milwaukee County taxpayers will be forced to pick up the tab. This is also a blatant attempt to strengthen union support and funding.”
The resolution would require employers who contract with the County to pay their employees a minimum of $11.33.
“It is now up to the County Executive to do the right thing and veto this bill, and I hope enough of my colleagues will have foresight to join me in sustaining it,” he said.
