Supervisor Peggy Romo West Announces Dryhootch Memorial Day Coffee Drive

Romo West Says May 23 Drive and Festivities Will Support Dryhootch’s Mission, Assist Returning Veterans.

Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy Romo West has announced the Dryhootch Memorial Day Coffee Drive from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Dryhootch, 4801 W. National Ave.

Romo West and event organizers are asking for donations of coffee, creamer, sugar, cups, stir sticks, snacks, bottled water, and various personal hygiene items. The event will also feature live music, an open house, a 50/50 raffle and food for sale. All donations and proceeds will support Dryhootch’s mission, which assists returning veterans with obtaining employment and permanent housing, counseling and addiction services, legal services and resources for coping with PTSD.

Dryhootch was named a 2012 White House Champion of Change award recipient. Its seven coffee houses in Wisconsin and northern Illinois provide a safe, comfortable and drug and alcohol free peer support resource for returning veterans and their families.
