Supervisor Michael Mayo, Sr. Says Bus Strike Would Be "Catastrophic" for People Who Rely on Public Transportation
Milwaukee County Supervisor Michael Mayo, Sr., Chairman of the Transportation, Public Works and Transit Committee, today urged Milwaukee County Transit System and the Amalgamated Transit union to go back to the bargaining table immediately to avoid a “catastrophic” strike.
“This would have a tremendously detrimental effect on people who rely on public transportation to get to their jobs, the grocery store, the doctor’s office or other important destinations,” Mayo said. “This isn’t just about a contract dispute, this is about people’s lives.
“The two parties need to return to the bargaining table to avoid what can only be termed as a strike that would be catastrophic to public transit riders. People could lose their jobs because they can’t get to work. People may suffer because they can’t get to the doctor, and people may have to go hungry because they can’t get to the store. It is critical that an agreement be reached before the transit workers strike.”

I agree, if you union leaders call for an immediate walkout it will show they care more about their own pockets than the people that depend on the services they provide.
