Statement: Trans-Pacific Partnership

"Wisconsin's working families see the Trans-Pacific Partnership for what it is, a raw deal written in secret for corporate interests at the expense of Wisconsin jobs."

MIDDLETON — Russ Feingold released the following statement on the news the United States reached agreement with Pacific Rim nations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a free trade agreement negotiated in secret set to damage the economic standing of Wisconsin families:

“Wisconsin’s working families see the Trans-Pacific Partnership for what it is, a raw deal written in secret for corporate interests at the expense of Wisconsin jobs. I wasn’t fooled by past trade agreements like NAFTA and I won’t be fooled by another job-killing agreement or Senator Johnson‘s fantasy that closing American manufacturing facilities is good for Wisconsin’s working families or our economy.”
