MilwaukeeSparkle Ashley, long time Milwaukee resident and social worker announced her candidacy for the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors District 18. The district comprises of hard working residents and businesses on Milwaukee’s northwest side.

“I am running for County Board Supervisor because a change in leadership is needed to improve and enhance county services. For too long, when bus routes are cut or the county parks budget is slashed, people on Milwaukee’s northwest side are hit harder. I want to find new and sustainable ways to support our parks, our transportation system and our sheriff’s department. We have had an entrenched incumbent who hasn’t been responsive to constituents or taken the lead on issues facing the district. I hope to earn the support of my neighbors in the coming months and look forward to a lively discussion of way to move Milwaukee forward.”

Sparkle was born and raised in Milwaukee. She is a social worker who has been involved public service her entire life. She has been a Girl Scout, a member of the National Honor Society and holds both a bachelors and graduate degree. Sparkle is happily married, and works as the Director of Social Services at the Bridges of Milwaukee Rehab and Care center. The primary election is February 20th, 2018 and the general election is April 3rd.
