Sensenbrenner Calls Lake Michigan Water Diversion a Great Victory for Waukesha

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner released the following statement regarding the Great Lakes governors’ unanimous approval of the Lake Michigan water diversion to Waukesha:
Congressman Sensenbrenner: “For more than a decade, Waukesha officials and dedicated members of the Wisconsin DNR have conducted studies, evaluated alternative water supply options, and presented their findings to various environmental authorities, both in the state and throughout the Great Lakes region. The city met every environmental requirement, resulting in today’s unanimous approval granting Waukesha access to Lake Michigan water. It is a great victory for Waukesha and its citizens, and will prove to have a net positive effect for the community and the environment.”

Hope no one plans on fishing out of the root river after this all begins. Nothing like fishing in sewage water. Sure, they say it’s safe, but who will monitor it to make sure? The DNR? Ha!! It’s the worst thing that could happen to Racine. Why not send their sludge down the Fox River? Because it runs through more Republican areas? I’d like to also know how there was a unanimous vote when Racine was against it.
Perhaps because the voting was done by Governors of the Compact states, and not Mayors?
Way to read and attempt even any comprehension of how the process works.
Does anyone know if the diversion will impact destructively high lake levels in Racine, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee,, Sheboygan, and all of the lakeshore counties?
Does anyone know if the Congressman has advocated for emergency tax or other relief from either the State or Federal Governments so that homeowners and business and municipalities can make the necessary repairs to preserve their lake front properties?
