MADISON — Looks like Senator Johnson and Donald Trump share more than just ideology. Yesterday Trump announced that Diane Hendricks and Liz Uihlein – two of the multi-millionaires bankrolling Sen. Johnson’s campaign – would serve on his economic advisory council. Hendricks and Uihlein have been some of the most prolific donors to the outside groups propping up Senator Johnson’s campaign. The Uihleins have donated more than $4 million to super PACs that support Johnson, and Hendricks has donated a cool $5 million to a Koch network super PAC backing the senator.

Trump’s announcement is another reminder of the close ties that Johnson’s wealthy backers have to Donald Trump. Many of  Trump’s largest donors have already lined up behind Senator Johnson. It’s not a surprise. After all, Senator Johnson and Trump share the same vision for an economy that benefits only multi-millionaires and billionaires like themselves.

“Senator Johnson and Donald Trump’s agenda would line the pockets of the richest Americans, so it’s no surprise that the multi-millionaires and billionaires bankrolling Johnson are now Trump’s economic advisors. It’s more bad news for middle and working class Wisconsinites who are sick of ‘The Ronald and the Donald’ show. Wisconsinites want economic policies that work for them, not just multi-millionaires like Senator Johnson,” said Harry Hartfield, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
