Russ for Wisconsin Announces Over $775,000 Raised in 20 Days
Russ for Wisconsin Raises Over $775,000 in Pre-Primary 95% of Contributions $100 or Less. Nearly 38,000 Wisconsin Contributors Since Campaign Launch
MIDDLETON – Russ for Wisconsin announced today that the campaign raised over $775,000 in the 20-day pre-primary reporting period from July 1-20.
Nearly 38,000 Wisconsinites, representing each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, have contributed to Russ’s campaign — with over 95% of pre-primary contributions at $100 or less.
“This campaign continues to be powered by the grassroots contributions of supporters across Wisconsin,” said Campaign Manager Tom Russell. “With nearly 14,000 individual contributions in just 20 days, we’ve proven again that we’re not relying on multi-millionaires and billionaires to fund this campaign — we have the support of middle class and working families across Wisconsin. Russ is grateful for the families that have pitched in whatever they can to fight for affordable college, closing tax loopholes for corporations that ship jobs overseas, and protecting Social Security.”
Since announcing his candidacy, Russ has traveled to all 72 counties, listening to Wisconsinites in every corner of the state. In June of last year, Russ offered the Badger Pledge to Sen. Ron Johnson – an effort to limit outside spending in this campaign. Johnson has yet to respond.
