Roberto Hernández Center scholarship fundraiser for Latino students Oct. 3

Milwaukee, WI _ The Roberto Hernández Center at UW-Milwaukee will host the 5th Annual Promoting Academics in Latino Milwaukee Scholarship Fundraiser from 5-11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts, 2419 East Kenwood Blvd.

The fundraiser will include comedians from Chicago: Elizardi “Eli” Castro and Lucky Luciano, live music by Rica Obsesión, food from 13 local restaurants, and a silent auction and cash bar.

“Our 5th Annual Promoting Academics in Latino Milwaukee Scholarship continues our efforts to raise funds for the Roberto Hernández Center’s endowed scholarship fund – now over $100,000 – which supports UWM Latino students with emergency scholarships,” Director Enrique Figueroa said.

Admission to the event prior to Oct. 3 is available with a $50 donation to the PALM Latino scholarship fund, https://givetouwm.uwmfdn.org/

Admission at the door will be $70 per person. Sponsorship packages – a major source of revenue for the scholarship fund– are available.
