MADISON – State Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement regarding his election today as Democratic Caucus Secretary:

“I thank my colleagues for this honor and am humbled by their support. I also would like to thank Representative Ringhand for her service to our caucus. I plan to hit the ground running by building closer relationships within the caucus, while strengthening ties to former legislators and the wealth of experience they can offer to our members. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and welcome the opportunity to work towards a bright future for Assembly Democrats,” Representative Goyke said.

Minority Leader Peter Barca offered his congratulations, stating, “Representative Goyke is a bright and rising star in the state legislature. I am proud to have him as a member of our leadership team, and am confident he will succeed in his new role.”

Representative LaTonya Johnson added, “I am very pleased that Representative Goyke has been elected our new Caucus Secretary. Already as a first-term legislator, Representative Goyke has shown himself to be a leader within the freshman delegation. I look forward to seeing him devote his energy and leadership skills to serving our entire caucus.”

Representative Goyke assumes his duties as Caucus Secretary immediately and will serve in this position throughout the remainder of the current legislative session.
