Praying for the Zyszkiewicz family and hoping for justice
Statement of Alderman Michael J. Murphy March 24, 2017
Like many in the community and Milwaukee’s civil service corps, I was deeply saddened and shocked by the senseless act of violence that took Greg “Ziggy” Zyszkiewicz from us this week.
Mr. Zyszkiewicz was a man who devoted his life to serving others, and his passing is a loss for the city as a whole. No words can convey my sympathy and my sense of loss for his family, but they are in my family’s prayers.
For the sake of his family, I was incredibly grateful to hear that the Milwaukee Police Department has taken into custody five suspects in the shooting. Thanks are due especially to this team of officers and detectives for their diligence and hard work, and I hope, for Ziggy’s family and for the community, that justice is served in this case.
