Poll Numbers Show Scott Walker Should Start Working With Democrats
It is obvious that Wisconsinites are hungry for real change and real leadership.

MADISON – Yesterday, a new Marquette University poll showed that Governor Scott Walker’s approval numbers are still under water with 55% of Wisconsinites disapproving of the job he is doing. That needle has not moved for Walker since his State of the State two months ago, where he made no mention of reaching across the aisle to work with Democrats.
It is obvious that Wisconsinites are hungry for real change and real leadership, the sort that Democrats are offering with forward-looking proposals like the Badger Blueprint, and their efforts to reduce college debt, expand Medicaid, and invest in education around the state.
Had Walker worked with Democrats, he wouldn’t be facing such negative attention:

After his failed presidential campaign, Walker returned to Wisconsin determined to improve his poll numbers and provide political cover for the Republican legislators who rubberstamped his failed agenda. Since his return, we’ve seen invite-only listening sessions and window-dressing proposals that have more utility as a campaign trail talking point than they do as smart, sound policy that will improve the lives of everyday citizens.
With Walker’s disapproval ratings staying so high for the past 7 months, it is clear that the people of Wisconsin are ready for new leadership in 2016 and beyond.

These statements sum up everything that is wrong with how Walker operates. He would have to change these things for there to be any improvement. He won’t do that. He has an agenda and it is the one the Legislators are pushing through on his orders. He has had invite-only listening sessions for over five years and that will never change. You see, he can’t have open sessions where someone might ask him a question he does not have a canned answer for. You’ve seen how well he does when he has to answer questions off the cuff. Not so good. His only policies are those provided through ALEC and the Kochs. Other than that he doesn’t have any except to get rid of all programs that cost the state money, reduce the public work force, continue to cut taxes for the rich and corporations, and give current state run programs over to private people or businesses to run. If he could change all of those things he might gain support, but that will likely never ever happen. If he could somehow become smarter and flexible he might gain support. But, that’s now how Walker rolls. He came into office with a vision and nothing and no one is going to change that, but most of the time he’s just winging it.
Walker’s a liar. What he should do is own up to his dishonesty, do his time in jail, and then go back to Iowa … or Colorado … or anywhere but here so we can rebuild this state before it is Irreparable. As far as the DPW, what you need to do is Stop lean so far towards Clinton that you are falling all over yourselves and LET THE PEOPLE of Wisconsin decide who we want to run for president … please. Stop acting like you know what ‘We, The People’ want. Not all of us want HRC. A good many of us want Mr. Bernie Sanders to be our next president. Let us decide … please.
And there are a good many that want NO democrat running for office anymore. You just don’t get it, do you. When the Democrats were in charge of this state (remember Doyle? The man who stole money from the department of transportation to do what he wanted, now we have the worst roads in the country; who gave to his cronies everything they wanted for campaign money?) they didn’t work with the Republicans. Now that the “shoe is on the other foot” you want to cry foul. Just like it was said about Obama winning, it’s the same here…you lost…get over it.
Hal, you’re talking money. The thing about $$ … it can and be printed … at any time. We can’t ‘print’ a new wetland … or a lake … or forest … or a new career … or (?). The physical damage he’s done is only gonna get worse, unless, of course, he has an awaking of some sort. It still amazes me that after growing up with the Walworth cty Dems providing food for his family he hates hard working tax-payers and and others who are doing their best to support their families and keep from living in a shelter or on the street. I don’t remember Doyle or even Thompson doing that.
Hal, it’s all about ripping this state apart … and then the ‘money’ will leave and here we’ll sit, waiting decades or longer for Nature to recreate what was destroyed. Look at Texas or Minnesota or the Dakotas (Bakken). It’s all about Divide and Conquer. It’s about helping the rich to add more stress to the poor.
How for should go back and when should we stop the retribution attitude? How about LaFollettes time? I don’t care for the Repubs because it’s all about paybacks on everyone except the wealthy. I don’t care for some of the Dems attitude either, but if I had to choose one, which I don’t, I would choose the one that is all for me taking care of family, especially the children and elders, not the one who wants to put 50% of us in the street. I’ve been there. How ’bout you?
