On the passing of Marlene Johnson-Odom
"Marlene was a trailblazer and a conscientious, deeply committed public servant who served with genuine honesty and integrity."
I am saddened to learn of the passing of Marlene Johnson-Odom, a former Common Council colleague with whom I had the honor of serving for many years.
Marlene was a trailblazer and a conscientious, deeply committed public servant who served with genuine honesty and integrity. She was a tireless advocate for her constituents and for the poor and disenfranchised, and her gentle kindness came through in how she treated people.
She will also be greatly missed by her family, friends, and former constituents.
