MILWAUKEE (Oct. 6, 2016) – With summer in the rear-view, the Harley-Davidson Museum® brings the action indoors to bring friends – new and old – to 6th & Canal for memorable events and legendary good times. With Bike Nights at MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant, new, history-making displays and the world’s largest collection of unrestored motorcycles, the Harley-Davidson Museum is a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

A few of the season’s highlights:

Flat Out Friday Bike Night

Thursday, Oct. 6, 5-9 p.m.

MOTOR isn’t ready to pack it in and neither are you. Join Mama Tried’s Flat Out Friday racers at MOTOR Bar & Restaurant at the Harley-Davidson Museum for Mama Tried’s Flat Out Friday Bike Night on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 5-9 p.m. Head over to MOTOR to hang with fellow riders, meet the racers, and enjoy live music by Joseph Huber. And, if that wasn’t enough, MOTOR will be serving up $2 cans of Miller Lite with your Bike Night koozies.

Stop back on Friday, Oct. 7, for free shuttle bus service from The Shop at the H-D Museum to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena from 4-11 p.m.

Wild Game Beer Dinner

Tuesday, Oct. 18, 5:30 p.m.

MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant

MOTOR will host its first ever Wild Game and Beer Dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Curated by Executive Chef Josh Peterson, the one-time dining experience will feature a multi-course menu showcasing a variety of wild game dishes paired with the distinctive craft beers of MobCraft Brewery. From alligator to rabbit, the scratch-made menu features items such as Duck Confit Crostini and Bison Sliders, as well as Buttermilk Breaded Alligator Bites, Hasenpfeffer Stew with rabbit and wild boar, and Antelope Steak with Bordelaise sauce. For the full menu, please visit MOTORRestaurant.com. Tickets are $69.65 for the public or $59.95 for H.O.G. members and include a ticket to the Harley-Davidson Museum. Reservations are required. No refunds. Call MOTOR at (414) 287-2778 to make your reservation.

Gallery Night Free Admission

Oct. 21, 5-9 p.m.

Presented by the Historic Third Ward Association, Gallery Night & Day is the two-day premier art event in Milwaukee for both the experienced artist and beginning admirer. Free Friday night Museum admission from 5 – 9 p.m.; regular Museum admission applies on Saturday. Gallery hoppers can check out one of the newest bikes added to the H-D Museum’s collection. Matt Walksler’s “JDH-XR” – a named he coined – was a standout at the 2016 Born-Free motorcycle show and will be on display at the H-D Museum in October. Visually stunning and mechanically ingenious, it combines the elegant look of Harley-Davidson racing bikes of the 1920s with the muscular engine configuration of the modern XR-750.

Skulloween Bike Night

Thursday, Oct. 27, 5-9 p.m.

Bike Night might have moved indoors for the season, but that doesn’t mean the party slows down. Head to one of Milwaukee’s most popular haunts, MOTOR® Bar & Restaurant, for a celebration of all things black and orange! In addition to food and drink specials from MOTOR, Skulloween Bike Night will feature live music by Devil Met Contention, raffles for Harley-Davidson gear, $2 Miller Lite koozie specials and samples from MillerCoors. And those who dress to impress will have a chance to win bragging rights – as well as gift cards from House of Harley-Davidson and a Museum prize pack – in our costume contest. Everyone in costume will go home with a commemorative photo thanks to the House of Harley-Davidson. Don’t miss out!

5th Annual Black Friday Beerfest

Nov. 27, 4-7 p.m. (V.I.P. entry at 3 p.m.)
Forget the mall. The best way to spend Black Friday is with great friends and your favorite craft brews at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Tickets just went on sale for what is sure to be another sold-out affair. Sample a variety of beers from IPAs to ciders from many of the Midwest’s best craft breweries. VIP packages are $60 and include early entry, H-D Museum ticket, bottle opener and a food voucher. General admission event tickets are $45 and include a food voucher.

Seasonal Displays

Milwaukee-Eight™ Engine Display

More than a century of refinement has produced a procession of iconic 45-degree Harley-Davidson V-Twins. Renowned for their unique look, sound, and for the feel they create as the rider goes down the road, these engines are the heart and soul of our motorcycles. A major redesign of the large-displacement Big Twin engines that power Harley-Davidson cruiser and touring bikes is a rare occurrence. Past designs—the “Knucklehead,” “Panhead,” “Shovelhead”— have taken on legendary status. The next chapter in this story, the Milwaukee-Eight™, was introduced for the 2017 model year. While retaining the defining features of the classic Harley V-Twin, it introduces substantial improvements for the 21st-century rider. Now on display at the Harley-Davidson Museum, the first ever Milwaukee-Eight to roll of the assembly line has come home.

Custom Kings Contest Winner

On display in the Museum lobby

Harley-Davidson’s Custom Kings contest challenged U.S. dealerships to turn a stock Sportster® motorcycle into a work of art. Over a period of two months, more than 90 teams designed and built their masterpieces. The top 64 creations were revealed to the public online, and fans voted for their favorites in a bracket-style tournament to determine the winner.

This year’s Custom King is “General Mayhem,” from Hal’s Harley-Davidson of New Berlin, Wisconsin. Hal’s had a unique partner in its effort: the local New Berlin High School BUILD Team, part of an organization dedicated to pairing students with bike-building mentors to teach valuable life and interpersonal skills.

City in Pink

Oct. 1-10

The Harley-Davidson Museum is proud to be among the many buildings and landmarks throughout the city that will be lit up in pink as a part of the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s efforts to shine a light on breast cancer awareness during the month of October. Beginning Oct. 1 and running through Oct. 10, the Harley-Davidson Museum campus will be pink as Milwaukee turns into a City in Pink.
