Next Act Hires New Development Director

Anne is a people-oriented fundraising professional and manager, raising money in the non-profit sector since 2005.

Milwaukee, WI – After a month long search, Next Act Theatre has chosen development professional Anne M. Lehmer as their new Development Director. Anne joins the staff of Next Act half way through the 26th season, bringing with her an extensive background in development and fundraising.

Anne is a people-oriented fundraising professional and manager, raising money in the non-profit sector since 2005. Specializing in major giving, capital campaigns, strategic planning and Board Development, Anne raised $1 million as Major Gifts and Planned Giving Officer with the YWCA in Seattle, WA and led Seattle-based teen mentoring organization the Service Board to financial sustainability. She also worked with Seattle’s arts, culture and heritage funder 4 Culture, the Nordic Heritage Museum and United Indians for All Tribes Foundation.

Anne earned a BA in Anthropology from Mills College and a MA in Museum Studies – Fundraising and Administration, from San Francisco State University. A former Board Member of the Washington State chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Anne is pleased to join AFP Milwaukee.

A former performer herself, Anne is delighted to serve Milwaukee’s arts and culture sector and enjoy local dance classes. The Next Act Board, staff and artists are pleased to welcome her aboard as an essential member of the team.

Next Act Theatre engages the hearts and minds of audiences with compelling and intimate theatre productions to stimulate thought, foster the exchange of ideas and to promote the development of new perspectives and understanding. Next Act Theatre is celebrating 26 years of professional theatre.
