MILWAUKEE – In advance of this afternoon’s special County Board meeting, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele released the following statement.

“I’m excited to officially welcome Supervisors Marcelia Nicholson, David Sartori, Dan Sebring, Sequanna Taylor, and Sheldon Wasserman to the County Board.

“Having met or spoken with several new Board members already, I can tell there’s a tremendous sense of energy to come together, forge new and better partnerships with one another and in the community, and get things done for the people of Milwaukee County. This group brings talent, passion, and experience to the County.

“I also believe that we have before us a chance to leave past disagreements and misunderstandings where they belong – in the past.

“I look forward to the opportunity to work with my partners, old and new, on the County Board to continue our successful mental health reforms, safely reopen the Domes, continue our efforts to eliminate racial and ethnic inequalities in our criminal justice system, make investments in our Parks, and continue to work towards making Milwaukee County the most efficient and empowering government in the country.”
