Milwaukee Chamber Theatre 2015-2016 Season:

BOEING BOEING
By Marc Camoletti, Translated by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans
August 13-30, 2015
Cabot Theatre
Directed by Michael Cotey; Featuring Brian J. Gill, Marcella Kearns, Ryan Schabach, Amber Smith, Samantha Sostarich and Annie Walaszek

Swinging bachelor Bernard is living the high life in Paris, bouncing from one beautiful stewardess to another. But all his careful planning goes out the window when an old school chum from Wisconsin and all three “fiancées” arrive in town simultaneously. Fasten your seat belts and keep your seats in the upright position, because we’re about to experience some major turbulence! This new version of the 1960s French farce won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Revival.

DEAR ELIZABETH
By Sarah Ruhl
September 23 – October 18, 2015
Studio Theatre
Directed by Marie Kohler; Featuring Carrie Hitchcock and Norman Moses

Robert Lowell and Elizabeth Bishop were bright, shining stars in the literary world. And from 1947 to 1977, these award-winning poets exchanged more than four hundred letters. Whether vividly recounting the roller coaster nature of their romantic entanglements, affirming their profound affection for each other or describing their daily writing, travels and illnesses, these missives are an intimate and astonishing record of two extraordinary lives. Ms. Ruhl has crafted a moving, innovative play based on one of the greatest correspondences in literary history.

“Love Stories”
VILLAGE WOOING by George Bernard Shaw
THE JEWISH WIFE by Bertolt Brecht
HERE WE ARE by Dorothy Parker
November 25 – December 20, 2015
Studio Theatre
Directed by Paula Suozzi; Featuring James Pickering and Tami Workentin

The lines of fiction and reality blur deliciously as real-life couple Jim and Tami celebrate both the holidays and the theatre together. As they rehearse three classic one-act plays—a warm, festive, and sometimes stormy portrait of love from all angles—they juggle the complexities of their own partnership. Whimsical wordplay leads to verbal sparring, onstage and off, but ultimately love conquers all! Three of our most insightful and incisive wordsmiths are showcased in this loving tribute to a life in the theatre. A collaboration with UW-Milwaukee.

SLOWGIRL
By Greg Pierce
February 24 – March 20, 2016
Studio Theatre
Directed by C. Michael Wright; Featuring Peter Reeves and Sara Zientek

A teenager flees to her uncle’s jungle retreat in Costa Rica to avoid the results of a potentially fatal accident at a house party. As the reclusive uncle gets reacquainted with his impulsive niece, after a nine-year absence and a self-imposed exile, startling details about both of their pasts slowly unfold. Here is an edgy new work, from a strong, emerging playwright, about owning your past – and getting on with your life.

FALLEN ANGELS
By Noel Coward
April 14 – May 1, 2016
Cabot Theatre
Directed by C. Michael Wright; Featuring Kay Allmand, Matt Koester, Beth Mulkerron, Rick Pendzich, Molly Rhode and Chase Stoeger

Julia and Jane are the dearest of friends. And both are happily married. That is until they each unexpectedly hear that an old flame will be paying a call. When they discover that they’re both still carrying a torch for the very same Maurice, the fur begins to fly! Noël Coward is the master of drawing room comedy, and this delightful diversion is chock-full of his razor-sharp wit, charming musical interludes and all-around joie de vivre!

All productions will be presented at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward.  Season tickets, $93 – $155, on sale now. Call (414) 276-8842 to purchase a subscription.  Single tickets will go on sale on June 29, 2015; call the Broadway Theatre Center Box Office at (414) 291-7800.  For more information, visit www.milwaukeechambertheatre.com.
