Marcus Center Announces New Free Outdoor Movie Series for Families

MILWAUKEE, WI (Thursday, June 12, 2014) – The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts announces a new series for families on select Friday evenings. Peck Flicks at Peck Pavilion is a free series offering family friendly movies shown outdoors in the Marcus Center’s Peck Pavilion. The series will show only G or PG movies for a wide audience in the downtown space.   The seating in the bowl opens at 6pm. Movies start at approximately 7:45 pm or at dusk. Seating is all general admission and no carry in food or drink will be allowed. The new River’s Edge Patio will be open with food and beverages available for purchase from Sazama’s Fine Catering.

The 2014 Schedule Includes:

July 25: THE MUPPET MOVIE (Rated G)
Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear have embarked on a quest for stardom. They take a trip to Hollywood, riding in or on a wide variety of vehicles along the way. This classic children’s adventure movie features a huge cast of Hollywood greats in cameo roles and paved the way for a number of sequels. One of the film’s many songs, The Rainbow Connection, was nominated for an Oscar.

August 15: THE SANDLOT (Rated PG)
“The Sandlot” is a comedy about a summer of friendship and adventure during which one boy becomes part of a team. Nine boys become best friends and their leader becomes a legend by confronting the terrifying mystery beyond the left field fence. Ruff! Ruff!

August 22: THE GOONIES (Rated PG)
THE GOONIES are a group of seven young friends from a small Northwest town who find themselves on a thrilling underground adventure filled with humor and heart-pounding peril as they seek the secrets behind the treasure of the notorious pirate, One-Eyed Willie.
