The winners are as follows:
SECOND PRIZE: KATHY’S 2ND CHANCE PLANTS

“The Grow Local Business initiative was our first campaign of this kind – and we’re thankful for the participation of over 30 local businesses,” said Robert Wendt, President at Cultivate Communications and member of Local First Milwaukee. Cultivate Communications sponsored the initiative.
Local First Milwaukee has three more campaigns planned to round out the year:
Move your Money (May, June, July) focuses on encouraging consumers to switch to local banks, and offers help with local business funding opportunities. The Equitable Bank is the initiative’s Premier sponsor, with Brewery Credit Union and FOCUS Credit Union onboard as Advocate sponsors. Keep an eye out for educational events and other networking opportunities over the next few months.
Eat Local (August, September, October), Sponsored by Outpost Natural Foods, will feature different ways and places to eat locally.
Finally, Buy Local (November, December) will round out 2014 with an emphasis on purchasing local items for the holidays and throughout the year. The popular Buy Local Gift Fair will take place during this time.
