Lawsuit Filed Against County Executive Chris Abele

The following is a statement from Milwaukee County Board Chairman Theodore Lipscomb, Sr., on the filing of a lawsuit against County Executive Chris Abele

By - Oct 22nd, 2015 02:03 pm

“We are forced to respond to the Executive’s overreach and his creation of a shadow system of compensation to increase the pay of his political appointees, as well as his continued refusal to appear before the public in committee meetings as required by law.

“We file this action because our citizens respect the checks and balances in their government, and the County Executive is not above the law.  With today’s action, we ask the Courts to hold the County Executive accountable to the law.”

Susan Crawford, a partner at Cullen Weston Pines & Bach remarked, “There is a disagreement about the law, a dispute between two branches of government, and it is appropriate that the courts settle the matter.”

A copy of the lawsuit is attached.

  1. Progressive .. but don't like smelly fish fromm either side says:

    Pretty obvious political gamesmanship here…

    Theodore Lipscomb, Sr., Chairman of the Milwaukee Board, is filing a lawsuit against County Executive Chris Abele.

    The same Theodore Lipscomb, Sr., who was treasurer for State Senator Chris Larson’s run for Senate;

    And Chris Larson is running against Chris Abele for County Executive.

    Poor form.
