Henry Steinway, aka Clockwork, aka RL Grime flew into the scene with his infamous“Levels” (Clockwork Remix), a remix that hit a million YouTube views inless than a month, and was voted Top 10 Remixes Of The Year by DJ Mag. Steve Aoki took notice, and soon after he released the monstrous Squad Up EP on Dim Mak Records. From there, the phenomenon that is Clockwork was born. He signed to The Windish Agency around the same time, and began to tour heavily. From Control at the Avalon, Hollywood, to Mix Mag’s infamous WMC party, to the Mid in Chicago, Clockwork has played some of the most notorious nights across the country, and everywhere in between. He has toured with guys like Dillon Francis, played alongside Avicii and ATB, and even performed back to back with Steve Aoki in Belgium. As for his productions, the Squad Up EP quickly became a DJ favorite, being played by everyone from Tiesto to Diplo. Diplo expressed even more interest in the project and reached out for a release on his label Mad Decent. Mad Decent released “Titan” in August and immediately it became an anthem, not to mention the powerhouse B-side, “BBBS” that has continued to chart internationally since the release.

Around the time Clockwork was emerging, Henry decided to release an EP under the pseudonym RL Grime on Shlohmo’s notorious LA label WEDIDIT. What started just as a fun project, the EP garnered praise internationally, hitting major publications such as XLR8R and FACT Mag and gaining support from the likes of Brodinski and A-Trak. RL Grime followed up his EP this summer with an even bigger move, remixing the blockbuster hit “Mercy” by Kanye West. The remix quickly shot to the #1 spot on SoundCloud’s “Hottest Tracks” list, and stayed there for a full seven days. The remix even crossed over into the mainstream market, and saw plays on FM giants such as Power 106 and Hot 97.

In an attempt to keep both projects separate, at first Henry kept it secret that he was in fact both monikers. But after an announcement from Dim Mak and Magnetic Mag, the news spread like wildfire, and the dual identity was sealed. Since, he has begun to play festivals as both projects, racing between stages to make each set. Expect only the premier from Henry, no matter the project. And at just 21-years-old, and being sought at for production by everyone from Pitbull to Diplo, this seems to be just the beginning for the young artist.
