The Cedarburg Cultural Center is proud to announce it will be hosting Jewelry Artist Katelyn Westenberger for the month of June as its Artist in Residence.

Katelyn Westenberger has always been in love with crafting, especially jewelry. Jewelry is something that you wear close to your heart on a regular basis, and is quite intimate. Several years ago she completed a silversmithing apprenticeship and applied the knowledge gained to teach herself how to carve wooden jewelry.

Katelyn loves traveling to new places and having her expectations of what she is going to encounter blown to smithereens.  She loves when places are so beautiful that they move you to tears…embarrassing tears that you really hope no one sees. Most of all, she enjoys creating beautiful things that inspire those sorts of feelings in other people.

The artist will be at the Center demonstrating her artwork on Thursdays, June 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30: 11am-5pm. There is no charge to stop in, visit with the artist, see her artwork in person, and be inspired by her creative process.

In addition, Westenberger will be teaching a special workshop on Saturday, July 9 from 10 am-12 pm, entitled “Leather Pyrography Jewelry.” Students will create their choice of either a bracelet or earrings in this workshop which highlights the techniques of leather pyrography. The workshop is intended for adults and teens. Cost of the workshop is $30 for CCC Members and $38 for Non-Members.  Supplies are included.

Details about the artist and her workshop and how to register may be found on the Center’s website at or by calling 262-375-3676.

The Center’s Artist in Residence program is graciously sponsored by the Townsend Foundation and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Mary L. Nohl Fund.
