InterNational Food & Art Walk Coming to Silver City

Layton Boulevard West Neighbors and ART Milwaukee are teaming up for an InterNational Food & Art Walk along National Avenue in Milwaukee’s Silver City neighborhood on Saturday, September 8th.

Layton Boulevard West Neighbors (LBWN) and ART Milwaukee are teaming up for an InterNational Food & Art Walk along National Avenue in Milwaukee’s Silver City neighborhood on Saturday, September 8th. The event will begin at noon and will keep visitors and residents entertained with live art demonstrations and creation, live music, a break dance challenge, open mic competition, food trucks, and dining specials at the neighborhood’s international restaurants. The activities on the 8th will wrap up around 5 pm, but the event will be followed with set menu dining
specials from Silver City’s array of international restaurants through the following week from September 9th to 15th.

All of the activities will be taking place along National Avenue between south 34th and south 39th streets. The bands that will be performing on the sidewalks of National Avenue include Rondalla Lluvia de Cristal, Milwaukee Cuatro Orchestra, Noise Complement, Last Address, Alex Siy, and Balet Foklorico de los Hermanos Avila. ART Milwaukee and Epic will be hosting an open mic competition that will include musicians, spoken word, dance, and performance artists. A one on one all styles break dancing competition will showcase some of Milwaukee’s best local B-Boys and B-Girls.

The Urban Ecology Center will also be holding the Grand Opening for the new Menomonee Valley Branch from noon until 4 pm on Saturday, September 8th at 37th & Pierce streets, only one block north of the InterNational Food & Art Walk.
