Milwaukee, WI  — Last Friday, February 5th, the independent campaign of Attorney Jean Kies for Judge grew in strength by receiving two key endorsements:

-Iron Workers, Local 8 – AFL-CIO

-American Federation of Teachers, Local 212 – MATC

Jean Kies had this statement: “When you think of Milwaukee County, you think of: our Milwaukee Art Museum, Miller Park, the Mitchell Park Domes and world-class infrastructure like the Marquette Interchange and the Oak Creek Power Plant. What these icons share is the determined, focused labor of Iron Workers, Local 8. From Lambeau Field to Miller Brewery, the hardworking women and men of Local 8 risk their lives, and battle foul weather to make sure Milwaukee County shines with the biggest and the best metropolitan treasures. My campaign is honored to gain the support of over 1,500 members and over 100 employers. I pledge to campaign hard for a Wisconsin steered by Justice for All, and I humbly accept the support of Local 8 in that endeavor.”

On gaining the support of American Federation of Teachers, Local 212: “Many law enforcement officers, nurses, chefs and highly-skilled workers begin their higher education at MATC. Milwaukee Area Technical College educates more minority students than all of the colleges and universities in the state Wisconsin combined; and their educators and core staff are superb,” said Jean Kies. “Representing nearly 2,000 instructors and staff, Local 212 has a proud history of fighting for average Wisconsinites and fantastic educational options for Milwaukee County. I’m very thankful for their endorsement and will fight for blind justice, and the ideals they hold dear.”

Jean M. Kies has practiced law full-time since working her way through college at the University of Wisconsin, and graduating from Marquette Law School at age 25. For over 24 years she’s fought for the rights of businesses, victims of injustice and Wisconsinites from diverse backgrounds. Jean lives with her husband and two sons, who attend Whitefish Bay High School and Lawrence University.
