MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee Building and Construction Trades announced today the signing of Project Labor Agreements (PLA) with JP Cullen for the Bucks Training Facility and Findorff for the Parking Garage.

“These Project Labor Agreements are great for the Bucks, JP Cullen and Findorff and for the Construction Trades that will build these facilities,” said Dean Warsh, Business Manager of Local 494. “We are proud to be part of the Bucks projects that are fueling an economic resurgence, transforming Milwaukee’s skyline and creating thousands of new jobs across our city.”

The Project Labor Agreement outlines the “rules of engagement” for all construction employees and their tradespeople throughout the expected two-year term of construction. PLAs establish terms and conditions for construction employees and contractors on a project, from wages and benefits, overtime pay, grievance procedures, drug testing, holidays and more.

“It establishes an agreement up front, says here’s how we’re going to work through this project,” Warsh said. “And because we have this agreement, we’re all going to be on the same page and we are going to avoid issues that could cause delays.”

By signing a PLA, the terms and conditions of the project are set at the outset. Project owners make their labor costs more predictable, weed out irresponsible bidders and ensure labor peace for the entirety of the project. Study after study shows that projects built under PLAs are more likely to be completed on time, within budget and with the highest level of quality construction.
