A small group of investors is in the process of buying the former Home Bar property, located at 2659 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View, Alderman Tony Zielinski said.

The group, led by Mr. Jim McCann, intends to open a restaurant at the location, and has secured a loan from the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. to make improvements to the property.

Alderman Zielinski, who has worked to assist the group in its efforts to secure the location, said he is pleased that Bay View will be adding yet another new dining option. “Bay View is hot right now with new businesses seeking to be a part of the action, and I am pleased that Business Improvement District #44 along South Kinnickinnic Avenue will be gaining another excellent partner in this new establishment,” he said. “I’m also happy for the residents of Bay View and the city who will have yet another quality dining option to choose from.”

Currently, there is no name for the restaurant, and no projected date of opening.
