Governor Walker Appoints Carrie Schneider to Serve on the Outagamie County Circuit Court
Schneider dedicates time to protecting child victims and victims of domestic violence.
MADISON – Governor Scott Walker today appointed Outagamie County District Attorney Carrie Schneider to serve as a judge on the Outagamie County Circuit Court, replacing retiring Judge Michael Gage.
“I am pleased to appoint Carrie Schneider as a judge in Outagamie County,” said Governor Walker. “Her commitment to enforcing the law has been evident through her years of service as Outagamie County District Attorney and demonstrates that she will be an excellent judge.”
Carrie Schneider was born and raised in Outagamie County and has served her community as the District Attorney since 2003. Schneider dedicates time to protecting child victims and victims of domestic violence. She is the founder and chair of the Fox Cities Exchange Club, which focuses on child abuse prevention. Schneider created the first domestic violence prosecution unit in Outagamie County.
Retired Justice Prosser of the Wisconsin Supreme Court recommends Schneider, stating, “She is widely respected and admired for her hard work and consistent success.” Justice Prosser went on to say, “She is recognized for her competence, substance, and leadership. And she remains a very popular official because she is so obviously committed to the public interest.”
Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel wrote in support, saying, “DA Schneider is an experienced and respected trial attorney who knows the law.” Attorney General Schimel added, “Schneider has the experience, wisdom, and patience to know how to tackle difficult challenges, and is always ready to step up to help. She exhibits the strongest of ethical values in both her professional and personal lives.”
Judge Michael Gage, whom Schneider will be replacing, highly recommends her, stating, “Ms. Schneider is intelligent, articulate, decisive, highly organized, reasonable in her judgments, and principled.” Judge Gage continued, “Carrie Schneider is highly qualified and well suited by temperament to be a Circuit Court Judge. I recommend her without reservation for appointment to succeed me in this office.”
Schneider received her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her undergraduate degree from Marquette University. She resides in New London with her husband and their two children.
