The work of artist Darron Reed will be featured tonight and Saturday in the Bronzeville District during Gallery Night and Day at King Drive Commons Gallery & Studio, 2775 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.

The event’s hours will be 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight (Friday, July 27), and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, July 28). The host of Gallery Night and Day is the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corp.

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs said a painting by Mr. Reed titled “On My Own” will be shown, as will a collection of Mr. Reed’s paintings inspired by his interests in jazz and lifestyle experiences of African Americans. She said Gallery Night and Day will also feature live music and entertainment, including music by the Larry Moore Jazz Trio and a preview of a play titled “Ceremonies in Dark Old Men” by the Hansberry Sands Theater Company.

The events are free and refreshments will be served.
