MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin– Jewish Museum Milwaukee is proud to be a participant of the Blue Star Museums initiative— a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families — now through Labor Day 2015.

This year, more than 2,000 museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and American Samoa are taking part in the initiative. The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage and to learn more about their new communities after a military move. The complete list of participating museums is available at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

The Jewish Museum Milwaukee features a permanent exhibit detailing the history of Jews in Milwaukee and provides a forum for discussion about contemporary issues, including immigration, tolerance and civic involvement. Along with the permanent exhibit, visitors can explore baseball’s legends and myths, its heroes and flops, its struggles and its moments of triumph within Chasing Dreams: Baseball & Becoming American, a special exhibit on display through Sept. 7.

Jewish Museum Milwaukee is located at 1360 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee. For further information including gallery hours, visit JewishMuseumMilwaukee.org or call (414) 390-5730.
