Festival City Symphony To Perform “Russian Festival” at Symphony Sundays Season Finale

Milwaukee, Wis.—Festival City Symphony will conclude its 2014-2015 “Symphony Sundays” series this season with a concert titled Russian Festival on Sun., May 3, 2015, at 3:00 pm at the Pabst Theater, 144 East Wells Street.

The concert will begin with Tchaikovsky’s popular “Marche Slav,” followed by Alexander Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances,” which includes the melody now known as “Stranger in Paradise” from Kismet. Completing the season will be Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 3,” called the “Polish Symphony” because of its infectious polonaise dance rhythms.

All “Symphony Sundays” performances include descriptive program information from the stage by Conductor Monte Perkins. Education Director Jayne Perkins will present Children’s Program Notes at 2:45 p.m. to help children become familiar with the music they are about to hear. Symphony Sundays concerts are best suited for children in grade 2 and older.

Admission to each concert is $14 for adults and $8 for children, students, and seniors.
