Brookfield, WI (April 1, 2015) Known for their adrenalized performances, original compositions, and notorious music videos, the critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated Anderson & Roe Piano Duo will continue to revolutionize the piano duo experience with their concert at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts (Wilson Center), located in Brookfield’s Mitchell Park, on Sunday, April 19, at 2:00 pm.

Currently the only Wisconsin venue on the duo’s 2014-15 tour schedule, the Wilson Center will present Anderson & Roe as their final Classical Progressions Series concert of the season. Tickets are available online at www.wilson-center.com, or by calling (262) 781-9520; single tickets are $22-$32 and discounted rates are available for groups of 10 or more. All prices include a $2/ticket facility fee.

Described as “the most dynamic duo of this generation” (San Francisco Classical Voice), Greg Anderson and Elizabeth Joy Roe formed their musical partnership shortly after meeting at The Julliard School in 2000. They have since toured extensively throughout North America, Asia, and South Africa. Their 2012 album When Words Fade was released to critical acclaim and spent more than a dozen weeks at the top of the Billboard Classical Charts. In January 2015, they released their fourth album as a duo, The Art of Bach. The versatile compilation sheds new light on Bach’s art and reveals his matchless brilliance.

The duo’s broad repertoire includes everything from Bizet’s Carmen Fantasy to their own arrangement of Michael Jackson’s hit “Billie Jean,” which was declared as “an expertly rendered, elegantly pianistic moon walk” by NPR Music. They have earned the respect of fans and critics alike, with performances on programs as diverse as MTV’s Total Request Live, NPR’s All Things Considered, and the Cliburn Concert Series, and their Emmy-nominated and self-produced music videos have been viewed by millions on YouTube.

“We both have a vision for classical music’s role in society,” said Anderson in a recent interview with the Statesman Journal. “We aim to make classical music as relevant and as powerful as we can.”

Audiences at the Wilson Center can look forward to a concert that reflects the duo’s shared belief in the communicative potential of music and its ability to bring joy to people around the world. As the Northwest Reverb recently stated, “[Anderson & Roe] swept the audience into a cheering mass of humanity, making a strong case that playing piano is the most fun thing two people could ever do together.”

The Wilson Center’s 2014-15 Classical Progressions Series is sponsored by JoAnne and Don Krause.
