Eighth Annual Anime Milwaukee Welcomes 7,500 this Weekend

Anime Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest Anime and Japanese cultural event, hosts its eighth annual event at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and Wisconsin Center over the upcoming Valentine’s Day weekend, February 13–15.

MILWAUKEE— (February 9, 2015) – Anime Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s  largest Anime and Japanese cultural event, hosts its eighth annual event at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and Wisconsin Center over the upcoming Valentine’s Day weekend, February 13–15.

Anime Milwaukee, known as AMKE by reoccurring attendees, expects to welcome more than 7,500 fans to downtown Milwaukee. The entire first floor of the Wisconsin Center will be taken over by vendors, Artist Alley, video gaming and more.  Connected by skywalk, the Hyatt will also be full of function space providing entertainment for event attendees.

Anime Milwaukee features exciting programming and colorful events 24 hours a day from 10:00 a.m. Friday to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, with special events including the ever popular Cosplay Combat Chess, Masquerade, the Charity Ball, a Manga (graphic novel) Library, Children’s Programming, the Maid Café, the Symphonic Anime Orchestra and the Rave featuring Japanese DJ Meishi Smile. Joining the guest line-up this year is also lead designer of the popular video game Pathfinder, Mr. Jayson Bulmahn.

Among the many offerings is Milwaukee’s very own Taiko Hibiki group, which will perform traditional Japanese drumming. Also making an appearance as special guests are voice actors Steve Blum, Bryce Papenbrook, Caitlin Glass, J. Michael Tatum, Terri Doty, Leah Clark, Eric Stuart, Erica Mendez, David Vincent, Joel McDonald and Tom Wayland.

Anime Milwaukee is supported through the Entertainment & Cultural Promotion Society (ECPS). The event is open to the public with daily entrance fees ranging from $25-$40. To register or for more information about the 2015 Anime Milwaukee event, visit www.AnimeMilwaukee.org
