MILWAUKEE…In a change signaling programmatic and organizational growth, Danceworks has added Linnéa Koeppel to its staff as the first full-time director of development. Elyse Cohn, who had overseen both the marketing and development strategies of the organization, has been named director of marketing and public relations.

“This is a milestone for Danceworks—and something that we have been working towards for the past year,” said Danceworks Executive Director Deborah Farris. “While marketing and development staff will still work closely together to accomplish our goals, we will be able to focus more acutely on growing our contributed revenue as well as revenue earned through performances and studio classes.”

Koeppel joined Danceworks last month after serving as development manager for Milwaukee Chamber Theatre. Additional experience includes work with Ten Chimneys Foundation and The Fireside Dinner Theatre. Koeppel has also worked as a professional actor, as well as working as a choreographer with local college and high school theatre departments. As a volunteer, she serves as the public relations chair on the board of directors for the chamber choir, Canticum Novum. Koeppel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Communicative Arts and Theatre Performance.

Cohn joined Danceworks as director of development and marketing in 2008. During her tenure contributed revenue has grown by 103%. She has more than 25 years of experience in arts administration, including 13 years in marketing and development at First Stage. Cohn has also worked for Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Wild Space Dance Company and Skylight Music Theatre. She currently volunteers with Nicolet High School’s performing arts committee, serving as publicity chair. Cohn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from the University of Texas at Austin.
